Kim Peake of Essex Named Director of Financial Integrity at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont
Kim Peake has been promoted to be our director of financial integrity.
Berlin, Vt.— Kim Peake of Essex has been promoted to director of financial integrity at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont, the state’s only local, non-profit health plan.
“Kim brings creativity and positive solutions to Vermont employers who offer health plans with the best care for their employees at the lowest possible cost,” says Ruth Greene, chief financial officer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont.
Peake has been at Blue Cross for 17 years and during that time has held several roles in underwriting, including associate underwriter, underwriter, senior underwriter, and most recently manager of underwriting. In her new position, she will be working to ensure the long-term financial viability of the company, which provides health coverage for about 200,000 Vermonters. She will lead the actuarial risk adjustment team and the underwriting team, which assesses risk and sets rates for customers.
Peake earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire. She grew up in Essex, Vermont and returned to her hometown in 2019.
She is an active volunteer for Dragonheart Vermont, a non-profit organization that strives to strengthen and empower breast cancer survivors through the challenging support of dragon boating. She has been a paddler on Dragonheart Vermont’s premier division teams for the last nine years.
