Blue Cross Vermont Pharmacist receives Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year Award

Amy Stoll, a Blue Cross VT Clinical Pharmacist, is the recipient of the 2024 Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year Award.
Berlin, VT – Please join us in congratulating Amy Stoll, Pharm.D., MPH, CDCES, BCACP who serves as a Clinical Pharmacist at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont since 2021. She is the recipient of the “2024 Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year Award” from the Vermont Pharmacists Association in recognition of her active participation in the association, volunteering in her community, and supporting providers with clinical decision making.
“Amy deserves this award for her tireless dedication to improving the pharmacy experience for providers and members, and outstanding service to her community,” said Nancy Hogue, Pharm.D., Director of Pharmacy at Blue Cross VT. “She is a dedicated member of the pharmacy team with an emphasis on provider-focused outreach and support, provider and student education and training, and pharmacy quality measures. Congratulations to her for this outstanding award!”
Early on, Amy set her sights on pharmacy. She got her first job in an independent pharmacy in high school after expressing her career interest to her neighbor, a pharmacist. Amy built upon this early experience through her education at South Carolina College of Pharmacy (University of South Carolina), exploring research pursuits and then pharmacy residency programs in both hospital and family medical practice settings out West.
Amy brings her knowledge and passion for improving health outcomes and pharmacy management to her role in supporting providers. She views her role as an advocate and intermediary for providers navigating pharmacy benefit programs and understanding therapeutic options for their patients. Her areas of expertise include diabetes care, asthma treatment, and stimulant use, and she spearheads provider outreach, education and training, with her sessions providing continuing education credits for participants.
As a volunteer, Amy coaches Girls on the Run and serves as a facilitator for My Healthy Vermont’s diabetes prevention program, offering yearlong classes and support to help participants achieve their personal health goals. She also serves on the family advisory panel for the DULCE (Developmental Understanding Legal Collaboration for Everyone) program that supports family specialists placed in VT pediatric offices. When not working or volunteering, Amy enjoys getting outdoors with her young family in all seasons and relaxes by baking with her sourdough starter, reading historical fiction, and playing board games with her husband and friends.
Awarded annually, the Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award recognizes a pharmacist who has graduated within the last ten years. The recipient must be both registered in Vermont and an active member of the Vermont Pharmacists Association as well as a participant in the national pharmacy association, professional programs and community service. We join the Vermont Pharmacists Association in celebrating Amy and applaud her dedication to her profession, her drive for excellence, and her devotion to her community.
