Programs and Partnerships

We have created, support, and sponsor community programs where you can learn new skills and engage in experiences that are good for your mind and body.

Here are the some of the community programs we created and sponsor:

  • Girls on the Run Vermont is a statewide program that promotes self-esteem and healthy activities for girls in grades 3 to 8. We proudly sponsor this event.
  • Velocity is a BlueCross BlueShield of Vermont afterschool program for students who identify as male. It helps them tackle challenging issues and build self-esteem through physical activity and group discussion with male mentors.
  • WEmentors is a program that offers University of Vermont students training in being mentors and then partners them with students from local elementary and high schools. We are proud to sponsor this program.
  • Wellness Revolution is another BlueCross BlueShield of Vermont program. This free program is designed to help women make cycling part of their lives.

Charitable Giving

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont is committed to helping community organizations whose work is complementary to our mission to improve the health of all Vermonters. We support local nonprofit community organizations by providing financial contributions, in-kind services and volunteer support. This support is consistent with the Plan’s role as a socially responsible Vermont business and good corporate citizen.

Our charitable giving has enabled many local organizations to expand their activities. We encourage organizations to review our charitable giving guidelines and sponsorship application

Below are some of the organizations Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont supported in 2024. We are pleased to provide support for these organizations and the good work they do to improve the health of Vermonters. Please note this list is representative of our contributions but may not include all the giving for a given year.
